Illuminares Festival in Vancouver, BC, Canada

We attended the festival last night for the first time. It was a wonderful event only marred by a couple of noted problems. 1) It seems because a great majority of the crowd were there just to toke up, those of us who were outside to enjoy the "fresh" air had to be constantly subjected to heavy marijuana smoke. It's just so fricking annoying that free will means that the dense drugged up goons make us subjected to their stupidity and habit. We were sitting in a space under a tree and we had young children with us, but still the moroms with their pot, had to come into the immediate vicinty and toke up! Disgusting! 2) The other issue was the one of lack of washrooms! At one point the lineup even for the men's this is, was 20 minutes long!

It could have been such a wonderful night but even the people we were with who had youngsters and have been coming for a while commented on the above noted issues. 2nd hand smoke of any kind is 2nd hand smoke. Some of us with asthma issues can't tolerate smoke of ANY kind. But again the pot heads can't seem to respect anyone else because they're too engrossed in fueling their habit. How truly sad for an event that could have so much community potential.
