Benny Hinn yells at crusade crowd in Nigeria for wasting his $$

American Evangelist, Benny Hinn Leaves Nigeria In Annoyance
Ghana
May 13, 2005

American evangelist, Benny Hinn left Nigeria in annoyance, saying $4million went down the drain in 3-day crusade. When the charismatic American evangelist, Dr. Benny Hinn arrived in Nigeria on April 28, he was looking forward to a quintessential crusade that would be attended by about six million people.

His expectations were high because he had already sunk $4million dollars (about N600million) into the 3-day crusade that is now being trailed by controversy. Dr. Hinn could not hide his disappointment on the third day of the crusade when he said with regret that the money he pumped into the project could have been put to better use.

“Four million dollars down the drain!” he reportedly shouted during the crusade, with his voice cracking with emotion. Giving a breakdown of the money spent after the crusade, Jon Wilson, vice president of the Benny Hinn Ministries said $3million was spent on hotel accommodation, transportation, technical infrastructure and other items, while the remaining money running into about N140million was used up by members of the local organizing committee.

Hypes and great expectations had heralded the coming of the world renowned healing evangelist to Africa’s most populous nation, but the organisers were reportedly scored very low by Hinn, who insinuated money business and told organisers that they got many things wrong. More was his anger when he learnt that the organisers collected N1,000 each from pastors who turned out to attend the Ministers Conference, which was part of the three-day programme.

This and many other discoveries allegedly led the preacher to pronounce publicly that no further fund will be provided by his organisation after the programme, to settle outstanding bills. He asked that the offering collected on two of the three days be used for that purpose.

666 is not the number of the beast (it's a devilish 616)

Revelation! 666 is not the number of the beast (it's a devilish 616)
By Tom Anderson
01 May 2005

A newly discovered fragment of the oldest surviving copy of the New Testament indicates that, as far as the Antichrist goes, theologians, scholars, heavy metal groups, and television evangelists have got the wrong number. Instead of 666, it's actually the far less ominous 616.

Satanists, apocalypse watchers and heavy metal guitarists may have to adjust their demonic numerology after a recently deciphered ancient biblical text revealed that 666 is not the fabled Number of the Beast after all.

A fragment from the oldest surviving copy of the New Testament, dating to the Third century, gives the more mundane 616 as the mark of the Antichrist. Ellen Aitken, a professor of early Christian history at McGill University, said the discovery appears to spell the end of 666 as the devil's prime number. "This is a very nice piece to find," Dr. Aitken said. "Scholars have argued for a long time over this, and it now seems that 616 was the original number of the beast." The tiny fragment of 1,500-year-old papyrus is written in Greek, the original language of the New Testament, and contains a key passage from the Book of Revelation.

Officer Promoted Religion During Traffic Stop

Officer Promoted Religion During Traffic Stop
Druid Couple Said They Were Targeted Because Of Their Beliefs

GREER, S.C. -- A volunteer police officer in Greer is under investigation after a Greenville County couple accused the officer of promoting his religion during a traffic stop. Tony Gainey and D.J. Gainey said reserve officer Tony Stewart pulled them over because of the bumper stickers on their car. One of the stickers read, "It's a druid thing."

..... Gainey said Stewart asked them about their bumper stickers. They said a few days later they received a card and letter from Stewart. In the card he wrote: "God is calling you to listen to words from the Baptists. This is clear! If you deny this, then you are pushing away the hand of God and that would not be wise. ....

WTF? Who the hell gives these kind of people the right to be so discriminatory!!! The officer should loose his job at the least!! While I do agree the Druid couple was in the wrong for not having valid DL's & Such, still!

Moon Illusion once every 18 years this solstice!

Summer Moon Illusion 06.20.05

The lowest-hanging full moon in 18 years is going to play tricks on you this week. Sometimes you can't believe your eyes. This week is one of those times.

Step outside any evening at sunset and look around. You'll see a giant moon rising in the east. It looks like Earth's moon, round and cratered; the Man in the Moon is in his usual place. But something's wrong. This full moon is strangely inflated. It's huge! You've just experienced the Moon Illusion.

Sky watchers have known this for thousands of years: moons hanging low in the sky look unnaturally big. Cameras don't see it, but our eyes do. It's a real illusion. .... read more at link ....

Docs want to dispense drugs if pharmacists won't due to "ethics"

CHICAGO (Reuters Health) - The American Medical Association wants legislation that will allow physicians to dispense drugs when pharmacists say their consciences will not allow them to fill prescriptions for contraceptives, painkillers and mood stabilizers.

The AMA says conscientious objection by pharmacists is a major public health problem in many areas of the country.

To solve the problem, the AMA's policy-making House of Delegates voted Monday to ask for changes in state laws so that physicians can dispense medications when there is no "willing pharmacist within 30 miles."

Some pharmacists first balked at filling prescriptions for oral contraceptives and the emergency contraceptive pill called Plan B. But a coalition of medical specialty societies, including the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), now claims the refusals have spread to medications for mental conditions and pain medicines.

So now we have yet another prejudice to overcome? What ever happened to the hipocratic oath? Or do pharmacists forgo that for their own gain? And what the hell do mental illnesses and pain killers have to do with ethics? Like no one is supposed to be mentally ill or in pain if they're ethical? GEESH !

Blessed Litha All

Origins: The Midsummer Sabbat or Summer Solstice (also known as Alban, Hefin, and Midsummer) is celebrated by Witches and Pagans throughout the world. Midsummer is the longest day of the year when the Sun is at its zenith, and consequently the shortest night. In many traditions, Litha symbolizes the end of the reign of the waxing year's Oak-King, who is now replaced by the Holly-King of the waning year (who rules until Winter Solstice). It is the ideal time for divinations and healing rituals.

Until now the God and Goddess have ruled supreme, they have imposed their will upon the kingdom without challenge, but now a somber figure makes his appearance. This is the beginning of the ancient pagan theme of the battle between the brothers; the light and dark kings now begin their conflict. The Dark king attempts to overpower the Queen; the child she bears represents the realm. They fight, light against dark, but at this time the sun is still at the height of his powers, and the King drives the challenger back. In his struggle, he overthrows the userper, but is wounded, and his strength begins to decline. The light still rules supreme, but a shadow has fallen over the kingdom. The God and Goddess remain at the height of their power, yet a new force - darkness - is awakening in the world.

Bonfire's representing the Sun, were lit to rouse love, purification, health, and fertility. Some witches believe that this day is the best for working magick. Tradition has it that on this day the Little People could be seen more easily than at other times. It is believed that the veils between the worlds, (like at Samhain,) are thinnest and the spirits of the dead pass through freely. Tradition has it, that if you accidently step on a St. Johns Wort flower on Midsummer night, you would be transported to the realm of the Fey.

Herbs common to this festival are St John's Wort, vervain, rose, lily, lavender, ivy, fern. Fresh fruits adorn the alter.

Chip of the ole Christ

How much more do we have to endure? This is getting freaking ridiculous! Maybe someone should find Jesus in their poop and try and sell that next?
